New story coming October 2024!
It’s been a while, dear reader, but I am so excited to share that my newest short story will be published by Mysterion Online this October!
One day last fall I was driving to my local library and noticed a weeping willow in our neighborhood. Because I’m me, my first thought was, “I wonder why it is called a weeping willow. Why would a willow be sad?” Then it occurred to me that maybe it wasn’t the willow that was weeping, and a dark but beautiful story began to take shape.
“The Sallowight willow was nothing special to look at from the outside. Just big and old with a thick curtain of branches that made it feel like you were stepping through a leafy waterfall. But in the center around the trunk, it was like a room.”
If you’re a fan of Shirley Jackson or spooky Southern Gothic vibes, “The Willow” is for you! I’ll post the final link when the story goes live on Mysterion, so be watching for that email next month!
